Oregon's Uber Kontrol Freak Governor Ted Kulongoski is at it again.

Last week two articles referencing Ted’s plan to install GPS tracking chips on all of our vehicles appeared in the Observer.

Lawmakers are worried that their global warming scare tactics will cause us to purchase more fuel efficient vehicles, which is what they told us to do in the first place, and therefore strip the State of billions of dollars of gas tax money.

The answer to this new financial crisis is to institute more of the same old tried and true tactics, limit personal freedom and further increase the scientific control grid to monitor the people’s movements.

A vehicle with a GPS tracker hooked to the Oregon State Department of Revenue’s computer system would automatically bill the owner of the vehicle with a mileage tax which is to replace the gas tax.

Guess what folks? A GPS tracker that can tell the State how many miles you drive can also tell the State where your vehicle is at any given moment and the speed your vehicle is traveling.

It does not take a genius to figure out that the automatic tax billing for road maintenance and construction revenue could be easily manipulated by Kontrol Freaks to generate automatic traffic and parking tickets just like the traffic light cameras in Portland. Well heck, we could even tack on the Global Transportation (carbon) Tax that is needed to solve the Climate Change crisis using this wonderful technological breakthrough.

The issue here people is freedom. I don’t think it is any of the State’s or Ted’s business when, where or how I travel.

Write your State and Federal lawmakers and remind them that they work for us and we are not their chattel to be tagged, monitored and bled dry by unlimited forms of new taxation.

And to answer directly the editorial above, I would stop driving if it comes to that here in Minnesota. Public transportation is effective here and the need to actually transport myself from one place to another is minimal at best.

Stop playing their game.

Perhaps a different perspective as a consumer is needed. I won't buy anything if it's disposable. That helps quite a bit.

My computer will last for the balance of my life (I'm 53) and will never be obsolete because I purchased the best that was available at the time (2005). Likewise my current vehicle with proper maintenance will also last the balance of my lifetime. The same goes for almost everything else I buy, which is very little other than food and a small amount of gasoline. Your purchasing habits are paramount to removing control from those that wish to exert it.

Typical "Green" Assholes... you can thank ALGORE for that crap, I hope he loves his carbon credits because he ain't taking all that money he is making from it with him when he goes. His carbon brokerage in South America and Mehico should start making a shitload of money this year because theBAMA will impose carbon taxes on us this year I'm sure. But all the brainwashed monkey are o.k. with that because man is evil and destroying nature, we must control the population because we breath too much air and consume too much, well hell I wouldn't consume anything if the would quit making cheap ass commie Chinese shit products!!! Boy that chaps my ASS!!!
