My Twisted Destiny
Darling why don't you come and play with me
On a planetary sea
On a frozen moon we could ski
We can go orbit among the celestial debris,
I’m driving down haunted lane
In the midst of a sword fight with my inner pain
In a world that is all in vain
Where there’s nothing more to gain,
Clouds obscure a sacred valley
As I drink from a cup of mesmerizing tea
Reflections that reach out to me
Had to fall to my knees,
In a world of minds too busy to think
Staring down authority until one of us blink
Everything in the Bermuda Triangle that will sink
Foreshadowing of the missing link,
Regrets that come like stones rolling downhill
What I wouldn’t give for a cheap thrill
Reminded of my mistakes sending a chill
The cries of the downtrodden so shrill,
What was and what shall surely be
Enlightenment not meant for me
Somewhere afloat in the Sargasso Sea
My twisted destiny,
Will mankind wake up to some degree?
Wishing it were up to me
But the cost of freedom will never be free
Even the adulteress earns her decree,
What of the souls forever lost?
At the mercy of fate they are so easily tossed
Like cannon fodder and Spanish moss
They will lay a wreath across,
This blue sphere will continue to revolve
Surely many problems will go unsolved
The sins they’ve committed won’t be absolved
As the sleepwalkers remain uninvolved.
