Nerve Gas in the Wheel House
I’ll come around to my town
Reject the lies of the clowns
Despite my ups or downs
Pursued by the Baskerville Hound,
There’s sinister words in the air
Searching for people who really care
Don’t you people know what’s out there?
Is this really more than you can bare?
But for an estranged spouse
There’s nerve gas in the wheel house,
Thought I understood the rules of the game
Found out that the world is really lame
Sometimes I want to pull back in shame
You can feel the pressure of the strain,
But just for starters
We have a world full of fake martyrs
And Cowards ready for departure
Seems the atmosphere is getting darker,
But for an estranged spouse
There’s nerve gas in the wheel house,
Going back to a space in time
When my troubles weren’t worth a dime
The ladder of success was not that far to climb
When a smile on a child was so sublime,
Please tell me where
I could find a woman who really cares
A patriot who actually dares
A night time devoid of nightmares,
But for an estranged spouse
There’s nerve gas in the wheel house.
