Pushing the boat off from a misty shore
Now I’m in my dream world once more
Each night through that mystic door
Escaping a troubled world, I don’t want anymore,
Living a double life as the moon rises
So far from any orchestrated crisis
Forgetting I’m the man she despises
In an existence where no one chastises,
Ancient cities of old where shadows lurk
She’s a spy, she’s a bride, she’s a Turk
A mysterious model who wears a smirk
A man with responsibility he can’t shirk,
As if on a cloudy peak it seems
Too real to assault my self esteem
Footprints that cross a clear running stream
Reflecting the images of lunar beams,
Chasing her through veils of a somber night
No judgment here whether wrong or right
Just need some angel to hold me tight
From the inky blackness of a cave comes fright,
Crossing the galactic waters in my little boat
Flying Zebras, I’m taking notes
Talking Cheetahs with their furry coats
Prehistoric creatures stuck in moats,
Somewhere along the way
When I wanted her to stay
The world took my breath away
Should have taken that ride in a sleigh,
The man in the moon is now singing a song
No longer wondering why my life went wrong
The desire to stay here is so strong
Perhaps a dream is not where I belong.
