November 9th Communications Shutdown: A System Reboot Needed to Activate New Code?

John Boering

My take on the communications shutdown:

In what is obviously a muscle flexing exercise meant to show the public just how much power and control the federal government really has, all communications will be cut off for an estimated three minutes on November 9th, 2011.

Claiming this is a test of the emergency response system, the terror alert system, and any other excuse they can come up with, Fema (that would be the same FEMA in charge of those camps they deny exist) will conduct a complete communications shutdown: all TV, radio, internet, and phone systems will be disabled simultaneously. This will be at 1:00 CST.

I am trying to figure out what kind of national emergency would require cutting all communications, broadcasts and internet use?   Maybe an emergency in which the government itself feels threatened by …….the people?  If this were a test to make sure the system was intact in the event of an emergency I could understand it.  But that isn’t what this is.  This is a test meant to ensure that the apparatus is in place and operational in the event the government wants to prevent communication between citizens: this is a test to make sure they CAN shut it all down if they choose to.

This is the first attempt at an emergency alert test nationwide. According to FEMA's website, " Although the EAS has been in existence for over 15 years, a nationwide test of the system has never occurred."

Their page also says the test will last approximately 30 seconds. They are only testing, " all broadcasters, satellite and digital radio and television, cable television and wireline video providers." The internet will not be tested.

Also, the date was chosen because it is the end of the hurricane season and just before the severe winter weather season. Although, you would think if they're intention was not to mess with peoples heads they would have chosen, say... November 8th, or how about any other day after that for the next month or so.

Seems they want us to make a connection between a nationwide alert and 911. So then the ultimate question becomes what is the intention behind this association? They obviously want us to associate this test with "that day" that lives in infamy; 911. So why? To mess with our heads and get us to accept our fate? Or to make the association so that we understand on a subconscious level the seriousness of the actual threat level for our own good.

You hit the nail on the head there Nikki!   It is to see if they can shut down all three form of information all at once.  Hopefully they won't be able to shut down HAM Radio or amateur Radio.  That could come in very handy!

Namaste!

Charles.

There will be financial losses for businesses to shut down communications in the middle of a work day.  Will FEMA reimburse them?

Although I understand the need for a universal emergency communication means, I do not understand why the 11/09 date was chosen. This is clearly a tool meant to instill fear into a large population. As if we don't have enough to be afraid of! Why is this the first I've heard of this?

Maria, I believe it's 1pm on a Wednesday afternoon, a work day. What a strange time to do this.
