Obama administration obeys Israel's demands on UN's anti-racism conference

by Maasanova

In a recent decision that reaches new lows, the weak and neutered Obama administration has bowed to its masters in Israel with regards to the Durban 2, the UN's conference on racism. This news comes on the heels of alleged back and forth dialog between US State Department officials and Israeli officials on some of the language of the text of the Durban 2 document which is critical of Israel's ongoing occupation of the West Bank and Gaza.

The Huffington Post reports:
On the call, which the Huffington Post managed to listen in on, National Security Council aide Samantha Power stressed that while progress had been made on the text of the Durban 2 document, not enough had been done to get the United States to the table. The current working text, she said, "met two of our four red lines frontally, in the sense that it went no further than reparations and it did drop all references to Israel and all anti-Semitic language. But it continued to reaffirm, in toto, Durban 1. And while it did drop specific references to defamation, it continues to include very problematic language on incitement... that are out of line with core US commitments to free speech. "
So the article suggests that the demands were US demands, but were they really US demands, or the demands of a foreign government? According to a February 2009 report by Haaretz and the Associated Press, the Obama administration had "fended off Israeli pressure and decided to attend Durban 2." So what happened here? There is little room for mere speculation, aside from my own which I maintain that our presidency, nor our Congress are serving the interests of the the average American on many issues.

It's been almost one year since Obama was forced address the firebrand Reverend Jeremiah Wright controversy, and speech entitled "A More Perfect Union" was the way he dealt with the matter. Here were a few key statements from that speech:
Race is an issue that I believe this nation cannot afford to ignore right now...The fact is that the comments that have been made and the issues that have surfaced over the last few weeks reflect the complexities of race in this country that we've never really worked through - a part of our union that we have yet to perfect. And if we walk away now, if we simply retreat into our respective corners, we will never be able to come together.
So the US, along with Canada and Australia were, in my opinion, were forced not to attend Durban 2 by powerful Zionist Jewish interests. The Zionists of the world and their international lapdogs, Jew and gentile alike, don't like facts, nor figures nor historical context. The way the Zionist handles a disagreement is to smear, harass, ignore and bully and the treatment of Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on the opening day of the conference is proof of that.
