Do you remember the furor that Michael Moore's documentary Fahrenheit 9/11 caused when it came out during the 2004 election season? Well if you don't, you either don't follow politics or like many Americans, you have a short memory, or maybe even both. While Moore's movie was unable to keep George W. Bush out of office for a second term (not that Sen. John Kerry would have been any better), Fahrenheit 9/11 brought a high level of heated discourse from liberals and conservatives in both the mainstream media and on the internet as well. Here's an expert from an article on the progressive news website Alternet, written by Michael Moore:
Dear Friends, I had dinner recently with a well-known pollster who had often worked for Republicans. He told me that when he went to see Fahrenheit 9/11 he got so distraught he twice had to go out in the lobby and pace during the movie.
"The Bush White House left open a huge void when it came to explaining the war to the American people," he told me. "And your film has filled that void – and now there is no way to defeat it. It is the atomic bomb of this campaign."
If Bush's legacies are the terrorists attacks of 9/11 and the Iraq war, will President Barack Obama's legacy be his administration's (mis)management of the 2009 financial crisis? Only time will have the answer to this question, but if radio talk show host and veteran film maker Alex Jones has his say, his new documentary The Obama Deception will at the very least pin the blame on who is responsible for the crisis. The Obama Deception could ultimately be what Fahrenheit 9/11 was for George W. Bush, but with a twist.

Fahrenheit 9/11 was meant to be an expose on the Bush administrations and the Republican's failures and shortcomings on the attacks of September 11 and the Iraq war. Moore portrayed the Republicans as the "bad guys" but largely gave the Democrat party a pass with regards to placing any blame when history tells us that both parties were complicit in covering up the crimes of 9/11 and the Iraq War. Jone's The Obama Deception plays a different game all together and completely obliterates the notion that there is any division within the higher levels of both the Republican and Democrat parties. The Obama Deception's driving theme is not Republicans against Democrats, or left versus right, it is the robber barons against the people, just as it was before and during the Great Depression.

Whereas conservatives and conservative pundits in the media had a field day denouncing Fahrenheit 9/11 for it's alleged "hateful" and "anti-American" themes, liberals, progressives and hardcore Obama supporters will have a very difficult time with criticizing The Obama Deception on any level. Jone's genius casting of hip hop legends KRS-1 and Public Enemy's Professor Griff, prevents liberals from smearing Jones as a "racist, far-right conservative," while appearances by author/historian Webster Tarpley, top trends forcaster Gerald Calente, and former Governor of Minnesota Jesse Ventura foils the criticism and common internet meme of Alex Jones not being a credible source for information.

From what I've seen and heard from the high quality YouTube version (my DVD probably won't arrive for at least another week or so) The Obama Deception, shot in HD, is a visually stunning piece with high quality CGI and a dark, brooding electronic soundtrack complete with tension-building subsonic pulses throughout . Being very familiar with Alex Jone's video discography, The Obama Deception, is similar to the level of the quality of its predecessor, End Game: Blueprint for Global Enslavement despite being a rush job for completion.

But The Obama Deception does have it's shortcomings. Alex Jones has the stigma of being a "conspiracy theorist" attached to his projects and is commonly derided on the internet as not being mainstream; therefore not "credible." This is a critical flaw that will prevent many from watching The Obama Deception. Credible, however is a relative term and this argument of credibility doesn't hold much water considering Jones track record of breaking huge stories. Remember, it was Jones who, on July 25, 2001 who warned his listeners that a terror attack would be staged in the US and Osama bin Laden would b...

Another criticism from some of Jone's hardcore critics is that The Obama Deception shies away from the very uncomfortable facts about Obama's White House Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel. Jones himself has stated that there is a forthcoming addendum that will address the heavy Zionist influence in the Obama administration. It's also interesting to note that Michael Moore's agent is none other than Ari Emanuel, brother of Rahm Emanuel. Of course, in the 2004 film The Rise of the Police State, Alex Jones' has already exposed Moore as being a total establishment shill.

The Obama Deception places the ball in the hands of Obama's supporters. It is ultimately up to them to check out the facts, and if possible, come up with some kind of rebuttal to the movie, as David Kopel of the Independence Institute did with its Fifty-nine Deceits in Fahrenheit9/11.
