A professor tweeted Monday that the Las Vegas massacre “is what happens when” white people “don’t get what they want.”

George Ciccariello, a politics professor at Drexel University, suggested the “white supremacist patriarchy” was to blame for the mass shooting. Ciccariello previously came under fire in 2016 for tweeting “all I want for Christmas is white genocide.”

“It’s the white supremacist patriarchy, stupid,” stated Ciccariello Monday. “But liberals will drown out all discourse with a deafening chorus screeching ‘gun control.'”

The professor briefly launched into a critique of liberals, asserting that mass murderers would break any gun laws they pass. He described “liberal escapism,” which he argued did not address the who and why of murders.

“White people and men are told that they are entitled to everything. This is what happens when they don’t get what they want,” said Ciccariello. “The narrative of white victimization has been gradually built over the past 40 years.”

The professor linked this “white victimization” to Trumpism and said “yesterday was a morbid symptom of what happens when those who believe they deserve to own the world also think it is being stolen from them.”
