Watching the world cave in

Every horrid little sin

Every time you take it on the chin

Every unholy place you’ve ever been,

Here comes that moment you’ve been waiting for

Just trying to see what comes through that door

Feeling like you should already know the score

But, she’ll always leave you wanting more,

The Queen of Destiny always gliding through

As if suspended by an orbital view

Her premonitions of tragedy right on cue

Heeded only by a chosen few,

We kneel on the threshold of science

As if some kind of godly appliance

Like draconian rule it only needs your compliance

Few of you have the stomach for defiance,

Like the child who has no protection in the womb

Decency in this world is nothing you can assume

Just like the gun fight in the streets of doom

Only one guarantee at the end of life-a tomb,

Just like the cobwebs of my life

Born of passion, sadness, and strife

Love can be a rose or as fatal as a knife

Just ask the crystal palace wife,

The shifting sands of time

Life’s endless ironic pantomime

Some charlatans appear to be so sublime

For most of us it’s an uphill climb,
