That Final Door

In a sea of forgotten blame

I am like a faltering flame

Egotists who boast will find infinity plays no games

But it seems everything remains the same,

Alienated since I was born

In a world war torn

At the other end of a spouse’s scorn

On the voyage of the forlorn,

Can you hear me from the other side?

I’m filled with sorrow since you died

How events in your life can slide

Think twice before giving this stranger a ride,

Who are you my faceless creator?

Certainly not a myth or folklore

Why is evil seeping in more and more?

Will you be there when I step though that final door?

Could there anyone there?

Would they even care?

The journey was long but the end was everywhere

The ultimate no one lives to share,

As though I were an extraterrestrial visitor

Or even an inquisitor

Seems I’m the unwanted solicitor

When did all the confusion occur?
