So Much More Than This
I thought there was so much more than this
A little meaning a little truth and a little kiss
I thought there was so much more than this
Perhaps just some momentary bliss,
It seems that things were more meaningful
People had a heart and an emotional pull
Marveling at the flight of seagulls
Now dealing with way too much bull,
All this self-worshipping
Superficial distractions so fascinating
What harm is there in these pointless flings?
Haven’t you ever heard the angels sing?
I need a snorkel to catch my breath
Too many fools hooked on meth
Way too many premature deaths
Too much insanity I’m out of my depth,
Feel like I’m in a submarine beneath the sea
Just trying to find a way to set myself free
I’ve become undesirable by decree
Nothing but rejection facing me,
I thought there was so much more than this
A little meaning a little truth and a little kiss
I thought there was so much more than this
Sacred moments of manufactured bliss,
They’re all obsessed with hoaxes and myths
If you’re in court you better plead the fifth
They can’t perceive the height or the width
It’s all about the wrong emphasis,
Your life tarnished beyond repair
The world just doesn’t seem fair
There must be someone to love out there
Only a savior could quell your despair.
