Putin’s short speech to the Russian Duma, 4 Aug 13

“In Russia, live like Russians. Any minority, from anywhere, when it
wants to live in Russia, to work and eat in Russia, should speak Russian, and
should respect Russian laws.Putin

When they prefer Sharia Law, and live the life of Muslims, then we advise
them to move to those places where that’s the state law.

Russia does not need Muslim minorities. Minorities need Russia, and we will
not grant them special privileges, nor try to change our laws to fit their
desires, no matter how loud they yell ‘discrimination’.

We will not tolerate disrespect of our Russian culture.

We better learn from the suicides of America, England, Holland, Canada and
France, if we are to survive as a nation. Muslims are taking over those
countries, but they will not take over in Russia.

Russian customs and traditions are not compatible with the lack of culture
and primitive ways of Sharia Law and Muslims.

When this honorable legislative body thinks of creating new laws, it should
have in mind the Russian national interest first, remembering that Muslims
minorities are not Russians.”

Putin received a five-minute, standing ovation.

Sounds like a nice story, I wondered if it’s true. A quick Google search shows that Putin made no such speech on August 4, in fact he made no speeches at all on August 4 according to the Kremlin’s own website.
