The Asteroid They Thought Would Miss

Never thought life could descend this far

Can’t even afford a stupid electric car

But our insane government carries on so far

Is there intelligent life out there in the stars?

She said so many things she denied

Don’t know why I even bothered to comply

I live in a time of no reply

Truth is in such a short supply,

At the controls of the unknown plan

In an unjustly corrupted land

A land of plenty now only scorched sand

Hey brother do you care to lend a hand?

The asteroid that they thought would miss

Might just give earth a fiery kiss

Ending the reign of the evil bliss

Can I find a woman for just one lasting kiss?

You’re wandering about with your mental scars

Don’t plan on writing any memoirs

No rendezvous planned at any local bars

There’s no answers on this dead end road

No lady to invite to my humble abode

Life was good when the waterfall flowed

Now it seems life is in a regretful mode,

But then there’s that invasion from planet Mars

My pet monkey can play the sitar

The other day I hit a Sasquatch with my car
