The review of this evening’s news stories requires me to read the European press to find those hidden gems of our future, as they are five hours ahead of my location and usually filled with hints as to what the mainstream economic themes might be on Bubblevision and other sources tomorrow morning. Little did I know that Ambrose Evans-Pritchard would lob the most distasteful diatribe of crap that I have ever read from his keyboard in my entire life. His commentary in the January 10th print edition of the U.K. Telegraph:
Deepening crisis traps America’s have-nots
appears to be the typical anti-rich, jealous, pathetic socialist nonsense we have come to know and love in our nation. Instead it appears to be aimed at the heart of those brave Americans who dare to take a stand for freedom against tyranny and still believe in that damned piece of paper even if the Representatives of the People’s House will not read it verbatim. The article first attempts to create the appearance of an “insidious crisis” which in my opinion attempts to link the eradication of the American middle class to that of the British willingness to create a modern socialist serfdom. But much to my disappointment old AEP jumps the shark with these three sentences:
It is no surprise that America’s armed dissident movement has resurfaced. For a glimpse into this sub-culture, read Time Magazine’s “Locked and Loaded: The Secret World of Extreme Militias”.
Time’s reporters went underground with the 300-strong `Ohio Defence Force’, an eclectic posse of citizens who spend weekends with M16 assault rifles and an M60 machine gun training to defend their constitutional rights by guerrilla warfare.
As it happens, I spent some time with militia groups across the US at the tail end of the recession in the early 1990s. While the rallying cry then was gun control and encroachments on freedom, the movement was at root a primordial scream by blue-collar Americans left behind in the new global dispensation. That grievance is surely worse today.
Based on his article he has:
1. Been to a dentist in New York City and read the magazines in the waiting area.
2. Been reading the emails from the proverbial powers that be and told to get back on board with the program.
Based on the poor quality of the theorems presented in the article, I would guess 1 and 2, but I know better. Despite some excellent economic writings in his past, his willingness to profess an almost sympathetic view towards the colonies for our strife while empathizing with the ideals of Eurosocialism is quite clear in his recent editorials. The sad thing he fails to realize is that twenty men in camouflage marching around in the mud in Ohio does not a movement make. Nor does the proclamations that by reading a Time magazine article or attempting to link his prior experiences covering the militia movement with the current economic straits of our nation indicate that any real reporting was done beyond reading an email with talking points provided by the American left or the internationalist movement.
This is disturbing because it supports my contention in the piece below of what is coming our way as American citizens. Any opposition must be silenced, destroyed, or dispersed regardless of the rule of law and failure to understand the implications of what that means endangers your own family and freedoms.
