The Best Time Ever for Music Aficionatos.

This is from the desk of J-RoQ. I wanted to take a moment outside my blogging to comment on the currant state of change in the music industry. First of all I recently herd an old friend of mine make the comment that there no good music out there today and thats why he is still listening to all the same shit thats from the 90's. First of all have you ever herd of the internet? pandora, beat port, slacker, podcasts ect. There is more availability today for access to new music for "free" than ever before. If your like me and have given up on mainstream radio since they invented corporate sponsored commercial based radio stations, and favored creating your own mix tapes or now known as "playlists" for your listening pleasure then dig this. I make real efforts to research large amounts of new and old music from many sources to feed my ever growing non stop music addiction. When I hear people comment how there no good shit out there any Moore im just like your such a fucking moron. Buy a computer you idiot. Trapped in previous decades is a death sentence. Each decade has given us great music.,but music goes on my brother and sisters. When I was in high school i remember how I used to go to cool record stores to find cool English imports.I used to go to the back of Circus magazine to order new records. I remember when I ordered U2'S "BOY", THE SMITHS "MEAT IS MURDER, THE CURE, SEX pISTOLS "NEVER MIND THE BULLOCKS" as well as some hard to find Jazz imports. I have always been a "B SIDE' kind of cat. I host a podcast on i-tunes called "Hooked on tronixx". I feature new and old music from all styles and genres. It costs me money to produce the show. I am glad to do it though because I receive emails from all over the world from subscribers of my show thanking me for bringing music to them that otherwise they might not have ever herd because of laws that prevent different music only available by country and regional code. Its a labor of love. We are living in the best time ever to find new music via the web. Also its the best time for artists to self promote, produce and market they're sounds every where with out being owned by a label. Today you can create your own label incorporate yourself and throw your stuff up on "You Tube" and go viral overnight. Unless you have been in the game and toured for the last twenty years like I have you would not see the great changes that have been in place now for the artists interests. Record labels in the past truly owned and exploited the artists for the labels benefit first. Under contract the label would get most of your earnings while you toured. When you stopped making albums and touring the label still made money on your record sells because they owned the publishing rights to your songs. The business was a bunch of whores in an all out fuck fest for real. Ray Charles was one of the first singer song writers to own his masters and publishing to his songs and remained a wealthy man because of it. This was unheard of in the business back then. Moore artists died broke because of contracts signed that gave they're souls to the labels brass. Today you do not have to sign to a major label to be successful. You do not have to live in NY,LA or MIAMI to be herd! A big misconception out there is that you have to move to one of the big three zip codes to make it. Just so you can be another actor, musician, or writer working a job as a fine dining waiter or waitress just to make enough to live in a shitty neighborhood while you try to get noticed by those whom matter. Fact , if you build it and its great they will come! Use the outlets available to you that will get you exposer. Its right at your fingertips. There is ways today to get your name out there that are just mind blowing, be smart and be the best. And always remember that "you are the prize" How can you expect others to believe it if you don't. J-RoQ

music biz run by jews, immoral venue owners, shady managers, fly-by-night labels and American Idol now. I got to the point of insanity in 97 after 15 years of being screwed by most of the above mentioned and simply gave it all up, then 2000, IRS raped me for over 700k...............SO FOK THE MUSIC BIZ ;)

Long Live the Indie scene!!!

Love the Music, Hate the Biz!!!
