The chief medical officer for Ontario, Dr. Arlene King, recently had this to say: "We decided, that we can open the door a crack, in terms of offering it to others (police & firefighters) who would benefit from immunization."
Ontario has now indicated; newly eligible special needs groups, will be offered their (your) free swine flu vaccines. These groups are to include; the health ministry staff, even though they are considered small in the scope of involvement, when it comes to the management of this novel pandemic – Ontario is also saying; it's important to have the critical people who do manage this pandemic, protected...ministry emergency operations (police & firefighters) and, those working on surveillance, immunization, public health infection control and, those responsible for distribution of the vaccines (couriers) are some of who they are referring to.
According to Dr. King: Ottawa is allowing for a limited expansion of this swine flu vaccination program.
Just earlier this month, some vaccination units (clinics) had to be closed due to vaccine shortages - Ontario estimates there’ll be sufficient vaccines for everyone by the end of this year.
Less than one month ago; the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), proposed a deceitful tactic to encourage more people to take the H1N1 vaccine: “What would work better…would be to say there was a shortage (vaccines), and people would then...tend to line up more for something that’s in demand...ha, ha, ha, ha, ha."
As of November 10, 2009, the PUBLIC HEALTH AGENCY of CANADA, reports a total of 37 deaths having occurred from swine flu, in Ontario. It may however, still be reasonable to question, whether all the deaths were directly attributable to the swine flu (H1N1).
In order to keep things in a more manageable perspective, and thus hopefully, reduce some of the stresses caused by this pandemic, I have created a few simple statistics based on some reports.
The 37 Ontario H1N1 deaths are; said to have had a start date of April this year. That would therefore translate to less than six deaths per month.
Now, lets re-visit some other statistics of death, and to which are associated, with just one city in Ontario...Toronto.
In the year 2000, a report that was conducted and released by the Toronto public health department (TPHD) and titled: “Air Pollution Burden of Illness in Toronto” concluded that 1000 people die every year, prematurely, and, its due to air pollution (poisoning).
In the year 2004, a similar study was again carried out by TPHD, but this time; it indicated that there was an increase in these premature deaths, to a new estimated total of 1700 every year.
These numbers, conservatively equate to an increase of 175 new deaths per year. And, to further break down the numbers to a monthly value, would mean, 15 new deaths per month, over the course of the 48 months, between the two studies.
It may therefore be safe, and, conservative again, to assume that 2500 people, are perhaps now dying every year, from illnesses due to poor air quality. This estimate will therefore, further translate to the staggering amount of 215 deaths per month, due only to poor air quality…just over Toronto.
Further reports filed earlier today, are now showing; $1.5 Billion dollars was so far spent, on the swine flu response in Canada. Ultimately, this has all been due to the World Health Organization’s changing, or “new” Pandemic criteria.
In categorizing the depth of this pandemic: Dr. Richard Schabas, Ontario's former chief medical officer; “believes this one to be a dud.”
