Seems to me I’m living in a strange land
A place devoid of any guiding hand
It all seems diabolical and planned
Yet, I can’t even remember who I am,
A stranger in a forgotten place
Am I stuck in a perpetual mystery case?
My promiscuous little queen fighting my embrace
The source of the pain on my face,
I can’t remember from where I came
All explanations incomplete and lame
I once thought men and women felt the same
I played and lost badly at the game,
The prognostication of the future is a bit grim
You might just knock this primate off his limb
Could it be the volcanic fires of the Pacific Rim?
It seems the chances for mankind are very slim,
Knowing all this I pray in the desperation of night
Lord, save us all from this horrid plight
More than from the trick of the hand or the slight
At times I swear I can feel my soul in flight,
Now I play the role of the forgotten man
Left behind, betrayed, just not part of the plan
Never quite fit into the role of “Dapper Dan”
I took a wrong turn and ended up in confusion land,
Far from the love that seems to save some
Wondering from what strange existence I come from
Lost on a pirate ship wreck full of rum?
Still I wonder at the distant beat of the drum.
