The Echo Machine
Turn on the echo machine
You didn’t have to be so mean
After all the pain I’ve seen
We all live in a world unseen,
Have just enough to live on
Somehow I feel like a chessboard pawn
There’s a dying crow on my lawn
The tragedies go on and on,
You didn’t realize you were on a radar screen
Far from help and somewhere in between
Just another lost submarine
Just another case of mutated genes,
Turn on the echo machine
You didn’t have to be so mean
After all the pain I’ve seen
We all live in a world unseen,
Trying to make sense of this
Why the nation is at the precipice
Some people starve while others live in bliss
The betrayal of the Judas kiss,
Living in a land that’s that’s beseeched
Dumbed downed minds just can’t be breached
Can’t stand to hear another lying speech
Justice for mankind has gone out of reach,
Turn on the echo machine
You didn’t have to be so mean
After all the pain I’ve seen
We all live in a world unseen.
