The Epiphany
Living on this physical plane
That some would say has gone completely insane
An existence based upon minimizing pain
You will ask, “What have I to gain?”
Waiting for the eclipse on the surface of Mars
It beats wasting my time in singles bars
Guess I’ll gaze up into the stars
Love has left a trail of scars,
There’s not much left to believe in
Trying to establish the truth from a sin
You may have to notify next of kin
If they don’t find the singularity in the cosmic bin,
That day will come when man has been overrun
Because he felt playing with artificial intelligence was fun
The burden of guilt we carry weighs a ton
The epiphany that you’re one of the biggest fools under the sun,
Took a chemical train past fields of green
A mushroom shaped chemical gas cloud on the scene
Concerned for my life and all things in between
The contamination of all that seemed so serene,
Just a hollow echo of all those broken dreams
Don’t cry baby you’re coming apart at the seams
On this physical plain a life of extremes
The first arrival of the disaster response teams,
A spoiled princess who lacks respect
Becoming a victim just for effect
Madame your proposal was a bit incorrect
You’re now a person of interest-a new suspect.
