---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Eternal life for free? I do not believe that was the focus of my initial interest or query. Nor do I have the desire to become the backstop to anyone's pontification. I respectfully request to avoid any dogmatic entanglements for the sake of debate. However you are free to say whatever you like, and please, by all means speak candidly.

Here is what I find to be true 99% of the time. Religious followers have a tendency to lock themselves into this figurative room of their cultures religion and presume to know the truth of our existence. From their little room with walls and no skyline they presume to preach "the truth" about the heavens; the truth of our existence and of the world, visions of the future -- all from their little room. Meanwhile, next to them in their little room, is another isolationist locked in their figurative room of their cultures religion, shouting from the doorway their proverbial truth. They all shout so loud from their doors that a funny thing happens. Because they never leave their figurative comfort zone, they never truly see one another. And with all the shouting they never take the time to listen.

They presume to know based on their bias. They blindly grasp at what they want to believe and they miss out on the very thing they so desire to see.

Now anyone here can claim to have studied all of the worlds religions and the history of these religions. They can say they have taken a liberal arts approach. They can stand behind scientific method acknowledging all the while that condemnation without investigation is the height of ignorance. They can claim to have covered all bases. Whether that is true or not is reflected in your sentiments often unbeknownst to most others including yourself.

If it is truth you seek, then do not presume to know how to move the earth from an island. However, if it is comfort you seek then stay on that island.

There are two translations streams starting in the 1st century to second century.     The Latin Vulgate, Roman Catholic stream originated from Origen to Eusebius to Jerome and the true Bible was sent to the Alps with the Waldenses and became the Textus Receptus.   This is the basis for the KJV.

@ jack

watched the video. the preacher is very well spoken, clearly college educated. i agreed with some of what he said but being put on the spot like that i'm sure caused him to miss a few solid talking points. none the less he was a bit ambiguous and not entirely accurate on all he said. the thousands of documents he spoke of were not written in biblical times. they are a collection of writings that are mostly from after the nicean council; after Christianity became the official religion of the holy roman empire. so they validate little in the way of the bibles true origin, intention, and authenticity.

but the preacher was captivating and charismatic for sure. thanks for the video. although i still feel like we're shouting from our doorways lol

agreed. many ways to view that philosophy. majority of the worlds religions from europe, the middle east, india and china have all clearly influenced each other. it's like the evolution of anything else. look at how china has influenced japans society. just in general. japan has pretty much borrowed china's entire culture.

another good example of this would be ancient greece and then the romans. the early pagan religion of the romans was a remake of the earlier greeks. even the gods are almost carbon copies of each other.

go back even farther and you will see how the greeks borrowed the egyptian religion. as well as the mystery schools. why do you think the masons use so much egyptian symbolism -- even biblical symbolism as part of their craft? the time of the pharoahs were biblical times, and the first recorded accounts of the mystery schools date back to this time period. with the exception of Sumerian epics like Gilgamesh which was either written as a symbolic journey that was really about initiation into the mystery schools of the day and the secrets of life and death or it has been conveniently adopted by them.

The rule in a discussion like this is to remember the story of the five blind men and the Elephant.

Even though all five blind men experience different parts of the elephant all of them were right in their conclusions. There are many parts of the story, many parts of a puzzle.
