In the 1970's a very interesting ad in the classified section of such magazines as Popular Mechanics and Men's Saga was a compelling offer. "Proof that Extraterrestrials Really Exist" get your glossy photograph that will both shock you and prove once and for all we are not alone, many of these ads would read. What could be more exciting and provocative than that, I thought as a kid! I wanted proof!

I sent in a money order to pay for the proof that beings from another world have entered our reality! Once and for all the long over due evidence is finally available, but as I was to learn many times in my life the question of why wasn't something this important being reported on the news? Although I was to learn the actual truth behind this experience, little was I to know just how deceptive and intentionally obstructive the news would become. How many truly important events would not be aired or would simply be ignored by the politically biased media industry we now have in America.

In 6th Grade I'd been doing a lot of reading about UFO's in study hall. Writings by people like Donald Keyhoe, Edward Ruppelt, Stanton Friedman, and Jacques Vallee! between the expertise of these scientific minds and heroic former military men I was convinced UFO's were not only real, but from another world. The alien invaders are simply making mysterious visitation in highly developed vessels that even our best interceptors cannot effectively engage. This is what I thought.

In a few weeks the irrefutable proof of extraterrestrial life arrived in the mail. It was a 5 by 7 glossy photograph that proved to be arresting. Why hadn't the news informed the general public of such an incredible development? What could be more important than proving the existence of extra solar life? Was there really this much of an information embargo against such implications, I wondered?

There clearly visualized in the glossy photo was a classic alien body! A huge head in proportion to the rest of the body. A head that large couldn't have been that large! The head and the body were definitely out of proportion by human standards! How incredible! Sadly, it appeared the space man's body had been badly burned. Had his space ship been shot down by chance? Had he crashed by accident? Had he entered the earth's atmosphere at such velocity that his heat shields had failed and he had simply burned up along with his exotic vessel? Had he self destructed rather than being captured by the primitive armed forces of mankind?

Suddenly, I noticed a troubling aspect to the hard hitting glossy photo that I had poured over convinced that I had the evidence of a lifetime! History was in the making! But, something seemed out of place! Next to the burned body that lay face down were a pair of steel aviator's glasses on the ground next to the body. After doing some investigation I found that the US Air Force will rarely grant the actually photos of fatalities connected with air tragedies. Much less than allowing next of kin to view such horrific film footage, yet the incredible heat from ignited aviation fuel and composite materials that aircraft are made of have very strange effects upon the human body. It is not unusual for the body of a pilot or occupant of a crashed and burned airplane to have such telltale features caused by the very high heat exposure if the body is not incinerated beyond the point of recognition, I found out. Damn! Fooled again!
