Absence

Once I read what an old monk wrote that
…”there is no such thing as evil
- but only the absence of goodness”
Just like there is no darkness,
- but only the absence of light
Or if there is no hate
- it is the absence of love
There is no indifference
- just absence of carrying.

So maybe there is no anger
- just absence of happiness
There are no enemies
- just potential friends
There are no poor, destitute, marginalized,
- but customers, entrepreneurs, inventors…
There are no uneducated
- but potential designers, scientists, leaders
There are no soldiers
- but scouts, adventurers, pioneers…

So all we need
is a new frontier.
And all we crave for
is a new big dream:
to love
to care
to see the light -
to feel the belonging together.

As we venture
far, far away from here
- may be to some other galaxy
we all will feel
that we are
ONE.
