To Hide Away
Coming from that blood, sweat, and fear
What have I done with all those years?
What that means isn’t exactly clear
Can’t stand what I see in the mirror,
Mama you’ve been gone so long
Didn’t know I’d have to be this strong
Memories bring a bitter song
I no longer know where I belong,
Looking for a place to hide away
Oh the games my memories play
It’s like she came back yesterday
All she did was throw it all away,
Just try and sleep at night
Sooner or later give up the fight
Something tells me to take flight
Guess I was never quite that bright,
The defeats that come and go
You try not to suffer too many blows
The loss of trust just slowly grows
Sometimes they shouldn’t be disclosed,
Remembering your slender form
For which I had desire way beyond the norm
But it was just the thunder before the storm
The future became forlorn,
For what it’s worth I understand
Seems I’m on the wrong side of “No Man’s Land”
Just where should I make a stand?
Somebody give me a hand!
Coming from that blood, sweat, and fear
What have I done with all those years?
What that means isn’t exactly clear
Can’t stand what I see in the mirror.
