To Wish We'd Obeyed
To lose a father and son would be hard on anyone
But to also lose a brother and a wife
All at once would cut just like a knife
But to lose everyone I feel I'm on the run,
To put my mind at ease world just back off please
She left me with so much ease
Everyone else died of disease
What reassurance can I seize?
They say the dead are released
As if earthly suffering has ceased
Gone like a broken puzzle piece
Just give me peace of mind atleast,
The cloak of silence falls upon us all
Are you ready for the final fall?
Waiting for the aircraft's engine to stall
If only I could stand so tall,
Some people are green like Jade
Full of envy and tailor made
For life's misery parade
Is it so wrong to wish we'd obeyed?
To put my mind at ease world just back off please
She left me with so much ease
Everyone else died of disease
What reassurance can I seize?
Some live life hovering by the grave
Never worried about who they might save
Others simply become their own slave
The road to hell is uniquely paved,
Oh God if I could turn back time
And rewrite these sycophantic rhymes
Reverse the damage so well-timed
My own unintentional crimes,
I'm looking from the outside in
It's that clock they're all imprisoned within
Can't turn it back or even begin
To absolve myself of these sins,
To put my mind at ease world just back off please
She left me with so much ease
Everyone else died of disease
What reassurance can I seize?
