There is a blindness creeping across America. I don’t know if it is caused by ignorance or not. But there is blindness, for sure.

I’ll never forget what I heard an old man say when, as a teenager, I was watching a magic show at the Ohio State Fair. My eyes were the size of half-dollars as I watched the “magician” pull the proverbial rabbit out of the hat.

“Young man,” cautioned the old farmer with the faded cloth hat and bib-overalls. “As you get older you will learn that it is not safe to trust anything you hear, and only half of what you see.” He spat some Red Man on the ground, and turned and waddled off.

But now, four decades older, I have come to the conclusion that he was wrong. You CAN trust what you see. But just like the old farmer on the midway, there are always going to be those carnival barkers who tell you that you can’t.

Your eyes aren’t lying to you. They just want to convince you that they are.

Before I get to deep in the woods, let me go on record as stating that, for the most part, the blindness is willful. Sadly, very few of us have the courage to face the truth that our eyes are revealing. Life is so much more comfortable when one denies the obvious.

At least for awhile. But as that old commercial for Frame Oil Filters warned us, “Pay me now; or pay me later.” Ignoring the ticking in your engine will not make the problem go away. As the Devil would love to say, “What are you going to believe, Me, or your eyes?”

Or, as President Obama’s Pastor Jeremiah Wright famously warned, “The chickens have come home to roost.”

I have decided to believe my eyes. Others have decided to believe Bill O’Reilly, or Hannity, or Rush…or Karl Rove. Well not me.

I opened my radio program last week with Buffalo Springfield’s “There Something’s Happening Here.”

“There's something happening here. What it is ain't exactly clear.
There's a man with a gun over there. Telling me I got to beware.
It's time we stop, children, what's that sound? Everybody look what's going down.”

It is eerie how on-the-mark that song is for today. As Solomon pronounced, there is nothing new under the sun.

I was born at night, but it wasn’t last night. My eyes are wide open, and I don’t like what I see. Ignorance isn’t bliss, it is dangerous. Willful ignorance is suicide. While most Christians play ‘church,” the signs of destruction are everywhere. Get your head out of your pew.

Trust your eyes. Everything is not all right. Do you mind if I wipe off your lenses for you? It takes courage to trust what you see; But even more courage to act upon it. It is time to act.

President Obama’s birth certificate is a fraud. Sheriff Joe Arpaio has proven that. The government and the media are partnering to cover it up. Beware the government/media complex. Forgery is a felony. What else is not making the “news”? Trust your eyes.

Our elections are not honest. The dead vote, non-citizens vote, not all votes are counted, and some counted-votes aren’t even cast. The machines count the votes. It matters not who votes, it matters who counts the votes. Who controls the machines? Trust your eyes.

There is a new government-army call the Department of Homeland Security. Ten years ago they didn’t exist. Last week they ordered 450 million rounds of hollow point ammunition. Who are they planning on using those bullets on? Who will fire the guns? Look around. Trust your eyes.

Islam has infiltrated the highest levels of the American government. Last week the Muslim Brotherhood was invited to the White House. President Obama is sympathetic to Muslim causes. He does not love America the way you do. Jeremiah Wright is his inner voice. Trust your eyes.

Airplanes alone did not bring down the Twin Towers. Metal and concrete turned to powder. I don’t know the full story but know the full story has not been told. The Patriot Act soon followed. Liberty has diminished while government is more intrusive. Trust your eyes.

Not all Israel is Israel. We must be careful trusting in those “which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.” Jesus is the way the truth and the life. No one comes to the father except through Him. Don’t trust those who hate Jesus. Trust your eyes.

There are those who are trying to divide us along racial lines. Trayvon Martin has been all over the news, while black-on-black crime is a far greater calamity. Cities are going to burn. There will be riots in the streets. Americans are seething with rage. Trust your eyes.

The economy is not getting better. America is broke. Printing money will not get America out of debt. Remember the term “phony as a continental?” The stock-market is artificially inflated. A financial collapse is coming. Cities are broke. Pension funds will fail. Government is a huge bubble. They say there is no inflation. Look how many people aren’t working. Trust your eyes.

FEMA camps are real. I don’t know who they are going to put in the camps, but the camps are real. When the collapse comes we will see the fruit of the 40 years of godless-education in our government school system. It can’t happen in America. Really? Trust your eyes.

The US Constitution is dead. Our elected officials quote it but do not follow it. The power has shifted to the states. The 10th Amendment is our only chance to save the Union. Focus on local elections and local politics. Organize. Get to know your neighbors. Trust your eyes.

The voice of the people is ignored. The elitists pick the candidates and fund the elections. Only 41% of Republicans want Mitt Romney. He will not roll back big government. America’s choices will be between a Muslim and a Mormon. There is no opposition party. It is the political class against the people. Bill O’Reilly is looking out for himself. Trust your eyes.

Public schools are destroying America. Secularized education has created dependency on government, the emasculation of males, the murder of God, the promotion of freedom without responsibility, and the glorification of the deviant. Look at tomorrow’s leaders. Trust your eyes.

The church has become a business. They have sacrificed truth for tolerance, trusted mammon rather than God, secularized the Gospel, traded the salt for sugar, worshiped the creature more than the Creator, elevated the pastor and rejected the prophet, married the church to the government, and have been controlled by fear rather than faith. Trust your eyes.

Fatherhood has been diminished. Irresponsible men will not defend their unborn offspring. Forty percent of American children are born out of wedlock…seventy percent of blacks and fifty five percent of Hispanics. One in every two marriages ends in divorce. Shacking-up is at an all-time high. Married couples are having fewer babies. Sodomites want to get married and heterosexuals don’t. Marriage has lost its meaning. Family is soon to follow. Open your eyes.

Pastors have rejected politics leaving it to the liars, thieves, sodomites, baby-killers, commies, God-haters, tree-huggers, war-mongers, and secularists to imprison their sheep. Pastors don’t lead. They are man pleasers, managers, building their kingdom, a house of cards. During Hurricane Katrina they were the first one’s to leave town. Trust your eyes. True followers of Jesus are in for a rough ride. Our government is not our friend.

Standing for the Truth is not popular with the intolerant promoters of tolerance. “Crucify him, crucify him,” will become a much more common refrain. They hated Jesus and they will hate you too. Count on it. Trusting the rapture to rescue you from what is to come is a risky bet. Trust your eyes.

God is ticked off. Judgment is already at our door. A Holy God will not wink at sin, even if we are Americans. God judges nations. America has been weighed in the balance and found wanting. God has more disaster than the government has relief. Trust your eyes.

Read Isaiah 1:4-9. The first sign of God’s judgment is abandonment. Read Romans 1. No one is “looking out for you.” Repent. Prepare. Turn to the Lord. Build a network. Trouble is coming. “Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?”

Trust your eyes. Keep your powder dry.
