The main thing we all need to do is when we use twitter, use simply go to settings and set the private feature on. This will keep your twitter profile from spread out to the wrong places. I have just set mine and kept 1 of my old friends in there. You can invite your friends and start twittering privately.
The main reason why I am bringing this up is that someone got caught using twitter and forgot to set the private settings. If you do not set your preferences to private then your
personal information can be seen by everyone. I encourage for you to do this to protect
yourself and or personal privacy.
I don't use twitter that much cause of the security leak that was present, and I do not want my business to go out to strangers and possibly spies. I set my preferences to
private.
From Twitter:
Account
From here you can change your basic account info, fill in your profile data, and set whether you want to be private or public.
Tips
* Filling in your profile information will help people find you on Twitter. For example, you'll be more likely to turn up in a Twitter search if you've added your location or your real name.
* Change your Twitter user name anytime without affecting your existing tweets, @replies, direct messages, or other data. After changing it, make sure to let your followers know so you'll continue receiving all of your messages with your new user name.
* Protect your account to keep your tweets private. Approve who can follow you and keep your tweets out of search results.
