Unemployed Super Bowl: Private vs Federal
With the teams already having played the first half of the “Unemployed Super Bowl” it doesn’t look good for the private sector employment team. With about 2.0 million civilian employees, the Federal Government, excluding the Postal Service, is the nation's largest employer. As of January 2011 the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that the unemployment rate dropped from 9.4 to 9.0 percent. But the real U-6 unemployment rate increased from 16.6% to 17.3%.
