You’re out in a National Forest, Preserve, or Wilderness area. If you’re in one of many cluster zones, as David Paulides calls them, where you are much more likely to not only see a Bigfoot, but perhaps even disappear as a result, you might want to proceed with caution! From the Pacific Northwest to East Texas and Northeastern Oklahoma, Louisiana and Arkansas, we have a history of sightings going back to the 1800’s by early settlers. These regions are heavily forested or densely vegetated swamps where most people simply don’t venture out into. The Pacific Northwest and Canada have 200 million acres of forested wilderness. Of this vast stretch of land only 1/50^th is ever used by hunters, campers, fishermen, or hikers. The deeper one ventures into the wilderness two things can happen 1) You might see a Sasquatch 2) You might just vanish without a trace!

Get your antennae out

So, you’re either an experienced hunter or camper so being out in the woods doesn’t intimidate you. You enjoy the solitude and beauty of nature. Suddenly, the crickets and birds completely stop chirping! It’s as though all sound has been sucked from the forest! You feel the tingling that comes from knowing you’re being watched and every hair stands up on your body, a primal instinctive reaction that goes back to our ancient ancestors when they were not at the top of the food chain and they were being hunted by large and fast predators! They often fell prey to the Sabre Tooth Tiger, the Small Faced Bear, or the Wooly Mammoth! Bigfoot in his environment is an overmatch for any human being!

Unmistakable scent

You may encounter a horrific odor! This is characteristic of many primates such as Gorillas when they feel threatened or are being territorial. What witnesses describe as a smell like rotting flesh, a wet dog’s fur, or even hydrogen sulfide gas. It is pungent and nearly over powering! It is interesting to note that many UFO witnesses have reported the telltale odor of hydrogen sulfide gas when viewing a landed flying saucer. Remember that Author, John Keel, often said that he believed paranormal and extraterrestrial entities all came from the same source!

You don’t want to hear this

One unmistakable characteristic of a Bigfoot encounter is infrasound! It is the low guttural growl made by all big cats such as Leopards, Cougars, Lions and Tigers that is used to intimidate and disorient their prey! People report deafening screeches and howls that terrorize them into hysterics! Entire road crews have been scared off a construction site when such cries from the deep woods assault their hearing. Campers have up and run for their vehicle leaving their equipment behind when the air is shattered by the sound of a threatening Bigfoot roar!

Man’s best friend? Sorry!

If you happen to have Dear Rover with you, the faithful hunting hound that may go after a bear, and even bring that bear charging back to you when it’s chasing him down! Well, there are few times when hunting dogs in the vicinity of Sasquatch will even track a scent, and footprints or dare to give chase at all! Some owners of attack dogs have said that their previously aggressive and fearless attack dogs have often not only come back home after giving chase, but will cower under a bed and after their horrifying encounter, and will never be the same again! Another thing is for sure Bigfoot does not like dogs and has been known to tear them apart!

Zero tolerance

One dog owner in Oregon had a pair of exotic eastern European hunting dogs that were huge and powerful. One night while he observed a Sasquatch raiding his trash and went to get his shot gun, unfortunately his dogs were out in the backyard that connected to an infinite trail of dense forest. By the time the owner got to the backyard the mysterious hominid was carrying off both dogs gripping them by their bloody slashed throats, and for some reason could not bring himself to shoot at the bipedal beast! He said it was hard to get the image of his mangled dog’s bodies in the powerful hands of the Bigfoot out of his mind, and soon had his property up for sale!

Seeing is believing but talking about it?

Many people, such as the grandfather of Steve Isdahl, who runs the “How to Hunt” YouTube channel remembers hearing about what happened to his Grandpa when he first saw a Bigfoot. The WWII veteran who had flown many bombing missions over Germany for the Canadian Royal Air Force had little fear of anyone or anything, but as he was fishing and calmly looked to his right, there was a Sasquatch drinking from the stream he was fishing at! He quietly went into temporary shock as the creature disappeared into the vegetation after cupping water in its hands to drink. That man carried that secret around with him for 30 years after his sighting and didn’t tell Steve about it until shortly before his death. The ridicule over Bigfoot sightings was so intense just as it was for those who reported flying saucers that, a man who had braved the terrors of anti-aircraft flak from 88 millimeter artillery and enemy fighters strafing his bomber, would not dare to expose himself to such humiliation! There was nothing to gain over revealing his stunning experience with those who would not have believed it anyway!  

Conclusion

With 200 million square acres of north American continent forest and only a small percentage of it ever set foot upon by man, you can bet there’s more than enough habitat and game to support a population of the bipedal giants! A former US Army survival expert in Louisiana during a documentary demonstrated that there was more than enough edible vegetation and animals to provide food for a large predator such as the Sasquatch. According to accounts by witnesses, deer are a favorite of Bigfoot to hunt. You might also find it noteworthy that when Sasquatch is in the area bears tend to vacate. They apparently don’t want anything to do with the big hominid! So, if you happen to see a bear running away from something, you might want to pay attention and hope to be carrying some kind of weapon! Really? You’re out in the wilderness without a firearm?
