Where We Don’t Belong
This is the way I don’t want to be
Alone and yet unable to be free
Did I come too late for my cup of tea?
There she is staring and angry at me,
Seems it’s always going to be this way
With only sad things to say
Living in a world where you pay
Where they’re false allegations mold like clay,
Makes a humble man pray
But she’ll only stray
Come what may
Despite your dismay,
I’m finding as I go along
Not enough right and too much wrong
No one wants to be strong
We live where we don’t belong,
Didn’t plan this bluesy mood
Wish I were more shrewd
An interdimensional interlude
A nuclear exchange just a tragic feud,
If you examined my history
You might enter an innocent plea
So many burials at sea
Your personal pain is what I see,
Nothing but a foreign land
Where I played on an unknown band
With rain in the palm of my hand
She was so trim and finely tanned.
