Who Made You Bleed?

You brought your wounds with you like a ball and chain

So you have to make sure I suffered your pain

What my Dear was there to gain?

Making the world just a little more insane,

I don’t know who made you bleed

Oh how you carry around that poison seed

Perhaps it was just your creed

Weren’t you the one who agreed?

After all was said and done you lied

And a part of me forever died

Was I just supposed to let that slide?

Perhaps in the future true love will be denied,

You brought that anger along with you

Corrupting everything that was true

Just couldn’t help yourself could you?

I would have been better off drowning in a sea of blue,

Seems that my feelings are now all askew

The meaning of love almost hidden from view

I’m afraid of objects shiny and brand new

All those things I thought  I once knew,

There’s a lesson here we all should know

Human nature can become the lowest of lows

It works against seeds of love that we sow

Just as surely as the wind will blow,

A broken heart is beauty that has been forbidden

An expression of love that was frivolously hidden

Tenderness that will go unwritten

Making a man regret that he was ever smitten.
