Why Is China Building These Gigantic Structures In the Middle of the Desert? (Updated)

This is crazy. New photos have appeared in Google Maps showing unidentified titanic structures in the middle of the Chinese desert. The first one is an intricate network of what appears to be huge metallic stripes. Is this a military experiment?

Update: readers are finding more weird stuff.

They seem to be wide lines drawn with some white material. Or maybe the dust have been dug by machinery.

It's located in Dunhuang, Jiuquan, Gansu, north of the Shule River, which crosses the Tibetan Plateau to the west into the Kumtag Desert. It covers an area approximately one mile long by more than 3,000 feet wide.

The tracks are perfectly executed, and they seem to be designed to be seen from orbit.

(TLS)- This is some really weird Chinese Area 51 shit ... Looks like they have their own HAARP out there next to all this stuff along with what looks like targets for energy weapons (as nuke tests are banned, looks like what the use to test nukes with). These lines I can't figure out, I can only guess from the lines that look like an airport decoy that these are metal laden for reflecting RF energy back out in space  whether its to confuse or practice I donno. I really wish I could be a bug on the wall at the NRO and look at the data from our spy satellites. I'll bet our military knows exactly what their doing.

I think I figured it out (maybe) these lines are mock ups of street grids, testing new nuclear missile (or other weapon) guidance systems or spy satellite radars...   I know we have test ranges like this in our desert just never seen these type of test patterns.
