Not since the Civil War have we approached this (likely) day....brother vs. brother....sister vs. sister....Americans vs. Americans.....
ALL races, colors, creeds, and faiths will have a chance to sit at the table...for America is a country not of birthright but an ideology that all adults are created equal and each gets one and only one vote.
If not during this administration, then likely during the next, there will be a dictatorship. Uniformed men with assault rifles will patrol the streets as they are doing now during disasters....but they will then be patrolling all the time...day and night.
Will you kill your brother? If not, those that do will need help from those who cannot, or will not, end a human life even with just cause.....
I make no moral judgments here except one-- killing a man is wrong, period. That being said...if we will not submit to tyranny, then how will we live with ourselves after we have committed what must be done? Nay I say-- we have a duty to resist! So how do we live with it "after the fact"?
They have made their choices freely and of their own will. True, they may have sided with the tyranny believing that it will be a better life for their children or other relatives....but they did make that choice. They CHOSE to side with the tyranny....now we must decide and the question is this:
Will we kill our brother?
I want not fame, or power, or money.....if when the time comes I make that choice to take up arms against my brother....my greatest hope is for anonymity. I have very few illusions of what will happen-- even if successful-- should I take up arms against my countrymen. Most signers of the Declaration of Independence were lucky to lose their fortunes and die penniless. Others (and their relatives, by association) fared much worse. Then why do this thing of ugliness even though it is wrong?
To have a better life of freedom, liberty, and prosperity for my family and my community.
To know that I stood in the gap for what was right when others could not or would not do so.
To have a country not as it is, but what it can become.
I've sat here for several minutes trying to think of more to write.... Anything else is just window washing....
