PERSONAL AND HEALTH CARE SUPPLIES WILL BE CUT JULY 1, 2010!!!
I have some bad news, I mean really bad news. Virginia State Medicaid will cutting personal supplies to 100/month which means 1 case per month. This includes anything personal care related such as incontinence care supplies, catheters, hygene, and other various supplies. This will be in effect at July 1st, 2010 right before 2 days into July 4, 2010 of the Independence Day holiday. This will affect many hospitals, nursing homes, personal care facilities, and residential areas and disabled people who various disabilities. . We need to get going here as it's only June 25, 2010 talking to your Medicaid Representatives , get Petitions going and really wake up people who is suffering various medical conditions! What do this means to medicaid holders? This means people will end up buying their supplies out of pocket rather they like it or not not to mention shipping, and sales tax. This will put and will have a dent in their wallet to buy extra cases. Nursing homes will limit on how many changes patients will get per day, which means the patient has to use the brief more than 1 time per change. Not to mention people who cannot afford home care services will end up back in nursing homes and institutions. This happenned cause of health care reform. Many businesses will end cutting their hours of operation, and may cut pay for nursing staff.

mm-tr_appD.pdfPRIVATE NOTE : So what this is going to do is make people be limited to their supplies. It sounds like the doctor will make an incontinent person keep a diary of how many diaper changes or episodes no matter where
you are. And here is the icky point, Medicaid will put a control of how many diapers you are supposed to use on a regular basis, if you use more than 6 then the doctor will have to have you go through more stringous tests and exams just to prove that you need more. Just like you keep a bladder diary, now the government wants you to keep a "diaper" diary. It used to be by the case, now it's by the diaper. You think Lisa Nowak issue is bad, talk about Medicaids screwed up rationing. I just got back from GA and the stress about this is making me sick, and I feel bad for others having to go through this. And they are controlling now on how many diapers you can wear instead of how many cases you can or cannot go through. I usually use up to 2 and half cases or 3 depending on the condition, but now that does not matter.
