That's just it. Most of these politicians just want to stay in office so they can make backdoor deals with big money. The logic is simple. Why shouldn't they? Everyone else is doing it. They become political celebrities, get a bunch of campaign money so they can keep winning elections, plenty of under the table intensives and legitimate investment opportunities they would not have otherwise.
