Yes this happening in America, Canada, the UK, Australia, and New Zealand
Hi. All,
It was fortunate that this man had a high tech phone with him and was able to record his unlawful detainment by The Transport Safety Administration (TSA) . The link to that recording is below my comments:
More and more reports of this nature are surfacing on a daily basis. If it were 1960s Russia, or 1930s Germany we would all be scoffing at this type of incident and patting ourselves on the back for living in a free and democratic society where rights and freedoms are upheld. Well this ain't Russia, or Germany so scoff no more. This is how bad it is getting and this is not an isolated case by any stretch of the imagination.
Imagine yourself, a law abiding, hardworking citizen. Waiting at the airport to board your plane the next thing you are whisked away to a security office within the airport. No reason is given for your detainment (rights violation #1) no rights read to you (rights violation #2) you are then questioned about how why you are carry such a large amount of cash (between $3,000 and $5,000 that amount of money on a traveller in an airport imagine that, most unusual) on you (rights violation #3). You are then threatened that you will be taken to the police station, where Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and the FBI will be called to investigate you (rights violation #4).
What would you do in this situation?
Well first you must ask yourself if you are willing to stand up for your rights. If the answer is yes then you have to be prepared to maybe miss your plane. Which is a sacrifice for sure, but then what was sacrificed in order to attain those rights for you in the first place?
The first thing you need to do is ask the question am I under arrest? If the answer is no then ask am I free to go? If the answer to that is no? Then you are being unlawfully detained (which is also illegal there is a difference in the two).
Next you need to say something to the effect that "It appears I am being unlawfully detained, without probable cause. I therefore claim my right to remain silent, and any forced detainment or incarceration by you will be under protest and duress. Then shut up and don't say another word (that's what remaining silent means) regardless of how much they may badger or intimidate you in order to get you talking. You see it is difficult for them to even process you if they don't get you to:
1) state your name,
2) state your date of birth (which you really don't know for sure because it is "hearsay". You don't remember when you was born, your alleged parents told you) there is not a man woman or child on this planet that can prove their date of birth. And don't tell me you have a birth certificate as proof, because it isn't!
3) state your address those three things they need YOU to say or confirm either verbally or in writing. Once they have those three pieces of information they can proceed. And everything that comes out of your mouth from that point on can and will be used as evidence against you. Most people that get convicted for any reason, did so as a result of statements they uttered. Their statement was used against them had they remained silent that piece of evidence would not have existed.
Remember every time you DON"T stand up for your rights, you are empowering these armed, uniformed bozo's to act like jack booted henchmen and women. Which gives them the false impression that they have authority over you as well as giving them a green light to do the same to others including you and your family or friends.
I do not not practice law, nor am I a lawyer and therefore none of the above should be construed as being legal advice. Personal due diligence and education is needed so please act accordingly.
Just listen to the arrogance of these agents, and the treatment of this law abiding man who helps to keep them in a job. I guess he is lucky they didn't Taser him.
And now the recording
