You knew they weren't going back to Chicago.

Barack Obama and his wife own a house in Chicago. Obama made the city his home because political power brokers told him Chicago offered the best opportunity to rise quickly. And rise he did.

When planning began on where to locate the Obama presidential library, city leaders put the screws to him and he acquiesced. But he sure ain't going back there.

The Obamas are renting an 8,200 square foot, $7 million house in Washington, D.C. They bought another massive mansion in Palm Springs, Calif., and yet another house in Hawaii. But they aren't even staying at those places, either. 

For the last month, the Obamas have been partying it up in French Polynesia. And over the weekend, they joined an all-star cast on David Geffen's super yacht (which seriously looks like a cruise ship).

The Obamas joined Geffen, talk show personality Oprah Winfrey, rocker Bruce Springsteen and actor Tom Hanks aboard the 5,000-foot yacht (wait, 454 feet, it just looks that long), the Daily Mail reported. They were photographed taking pictures aboard the $600 million Rising Sun yacht, which has eight bedrooms and a crew of 30. 

Michelle, 53, showed off her world renowned physique in a pair of white shorts and a black tank top. She let her usually coiffed hair fall wildly at her shoulders, elegantly slinging a brown handbag over one arm as she posed with her husband. 

The former president was equally laid back in his attire. He sported a pale blue shirt and some beige pants, adding a pair of sunglasses to his off-duty look.
