The argument over the deintellectualizing of America has been going on for a couple of centuries now. Why, in a free-market society based upon a Constitutional Republic would this even be a true concern? There have been arguments that industrialization, mass manufacture, and the standardizing of consumer consumption would lower individualism and free thought. In my opinion, it was the government and even foreign influences that dictated policies that compromised the intellect of the American public.
In 1953, Norman Dodd, was chief investigator of tax-exempt foundations that were supposedly major educational trusts benefiting the student in the classroom, but in reality, were part of an institutionalized effort to influence the mind of the child for political reasons and for the purpose of state manipulation of the young mind form the very beginning of public schooling. Dodd had previously investigated the banking conspiracy that caused the Great Depression, he had also probed under the aegis of the Reece Committee proving that Communist influence was taking place in Congress and was being used to influence national policy!
The shocking realization that so-called educational trusts were actually being used as a form of propaganda to misinform and under educated the minds of young Americans was uncovered. Such organizations as the Ford Foundation, The Rockefeller Foundation, and the Carnegie Institute were not in business to further educational policy, but instead to instill Communist protocols into a society before they could have the tools or intellect to see the flaws in such a socio-political system! IQ standards in the US have diminished over the decades allowing failing students to pass and in many big city ISD’s to be granted graduation while being functionally illiterate. In Texas as well as other states the TASS Tests given to elementary students designed to sample how well students are performing and even to determine federal grant status for independent school districts, have had lowered requirements. This means to increase the number of students who appear to be achieving acceptably, passing grades were lowered so that an ISD would be likely to get more tax dollars.
This fallacy becomes a sad factor in the failure of the tax payer funded school system that many parents are trying to find alternatives to! Why would any government want generations of young Americans with decreased intellectual capacity, willing to accept Communist doctrine as a form of government? So, that the mass population would accept ever increasing regulations, invasions of their privacy, and more oppressive rule without realizing, without protesting, without refusal to vote for the technocrats who are ruling over them? We have seen in the Baltimore Maryland School District, more money spent on each student than any other ISD in the country, and yet the rate of illiteracy is at its highest in the nation due to liberal policies imposed by Democrat political influence.
We have seen the politicization of colleges and universities with the elite who are accepted into such institutions as Harvard, simply because of the political influence that will award them with the status of having attended without even earning a degree, for the sacred privilege of influence! Some of the Ivy League schools have been caught harboring Chinese intelligence officers, who were masquerading as students in order to steal technological data and send it back to the CCP. What happened when this was uncovered? The universities in question tried to keep these infiltrators from being deported!
George Carlin, the late comedian put it quite succinctly when he put it like this:
"Destroying the New World Order"
