In Lebanon, a tiny community centre has welcomed over a 100 child refugees since the violence began in neighbouring Syria, giving them the psychological and educational support they so desperately need.
"The children have seen what no one else in the world has seen. We try to help them forget", explains Khaled, a social worker at the swelling Zaatari camp. Refugee families still lack basic goods, running water or electricity, relying heavily on handouts from aid agencies. The community centre allows their kids a semblance of normality. "I can study again now, that's better than losing another year of school", says 12-year-old Reem.
