The robotics industry has started to deploy advanced technology that when looked at through a pair of “They Live” glasses looks to be a perfect way to create a compassionless order following soldier that would never question orders over some sense of moral indignation. Meet the future of human herdsman the new shepherds come from our very own military called The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is an agency of the United States Department of Defense responsible for the development of new technology to be used in combat. The private end of the equation is Boston Dynamics an engineering and robotics design company that is the leading provider of human simulation software, tools, and solutions. Now doesn’t that sound like the Terminators very own “SkyNet”?
“Big Dog” ”Pet Man” ”Cheetah” “Sand Flea”, are just a few of the robots that Boston Dynamics has developed so far. I encourage you to go to Boston Dynamics YouTube channel and look through all of their videos. The other robots featured are ones that can fly in formation, swim like fish and slither around on the ground like snakes. Think if these were used to kettle and gather up humans there would be no reasoning with a program. The human equation in “just following orders” has now been replace with a robot that is just following its program. Void of any sense of humanity and compassion words and tears will mean nothing to the machine.
