I posted an expose on the owners of Ning not long ago and their VERY CLOSE ties to the US Army. ALL web sites like Facebook and Ning are equally suspect. If you think you're safe on the internet you're nuts and if you think any one web site is any better or safer then another you aren't paying attention.

Why should we worry about the wiles of this world ? The world's philosophy is like an unpaid bill, we all have one. Where we see information, there is MIND. Questions are predictable and we can check them out. Does this not tell us there is a difference between a good answer and a bad answer ? Morality(law) distinguishes between the good and evil. Where did this come from ? With our passion we can build a bridge from the heart to the head and control the flesh with knowledge from where the law(morality) came from. Choice, decision, wants, needs, desires, give , take , Love and hate , its a struggle between the differences, an evidence of things not seen.

your right garyrea the whole internet is being captured in raw data to NSA super computers, EVERYTHING a brave at&t whistleblower told us that he set it all up.
I had a Facebook friend that lost 8 million dollars in some game, fake money, and another whose email account at gmail was compromised. I still get hacked fake emails from that account. I just throw them away.
Gary, based on your level of awareness by having your Facebook account data, or Ning, or any other web account you have someone could email you or coerce you to open an attachment that contains a virus that might cause you to go to a web site and download a fake anti-virus software or that might allow your key strokes to be recorded when you access your bank account on line.
Ann and I had two checks presented in Florida, we live in MN, for $2,000 each and $4,000 was taken out of our account about two years or so ago. The money was returned to us by the bank, of course, but we no longer have a bank account anyway. But this stuff does happen. Ann received what she thought was an email from B of A and by the time I looked over and noticed what she was doing she had already input her account number and pass code. She backed out of the web site but a month or so later someone cashed two electronic checks on the account.

i remember covering a news story when facebook first came out saying that it was a cia front. It's A Big Brother data mining site for sure.
To think the sale of accounts is not internet wide would be short sighted. Ning and all others aren't immune. The difference is that if Ning accounts were compromised we probably wouldn't hear about it.
