Michigan begun it's program in 1897 and other states followed, notably California, which has had the largest number of sterilizations. Oregon, performed the last compulsory sterilization was in 1981.
Sterilization was never a Federal statute, although it was proposed in 1922 via 'The Model Eugenical Sterilization Law'. 27 states still had sterilization laws on their books in 1956!
In case you don't think such an agenda will make a return, note that Swedish scientist and Nobel laureate Svante Arrhenius, who first proposed the 'greenhouse effect' theory in 1896, was an advocate of eugenics. Arrhenius' "natural Greenhouse Effect" theory was rejected by most scientists, throughout the 20th century, however the Club Of Rome have re-adopted it as part of their MMGW lie/ 'population cull' program. - http://www.theepochtimes.com/news/7-6-6/55985.html
No doubt thr Elite will start to push the sterilization agenda again, very soon.
California Über Alles, indeed
Sad to say, Amy, but I don't think there has ever been a time when we've been the globe's model of righteousness. Who would have thought we have sunk so low that we now discuss the pros and cons of torture, indefinite detention and assassinating American citizens?
