From talking with ordinary French people, there will be resistance / revolution if their fears and concerns are not heard.
The French take their identity and culture VERY seriously, they have taken great lengths to ensure that it was not too Americanized - and despite their protestations, and what others may think otherwise, the French DO like the American people and culture - but any cultural influence has to be on their terms.
So when they are faced with a population of les étrangères (foreigners) in their own land, who will not embrace French values or culture, and openly shows contempt for La France in all it's forms - you have a major problem.
This woke a lot of people up too...
