James, excellent points. The elitists and Godless ghouls that walk among us live only to plunder the world for their own gratification while our public schools indoctrinate our children into socialist wannabe slaves who will submit. What a world!

I've had a few face-to-face brushes with the spiritual, due to technology I've invented. More than enough for a lifetime, I can tell you. After those, I could never turn to atheism / materialism. The spiritual is an objective reality. And we've all seen what materialist paradises amount to. Due to their unimaginable brutality, there are some still in existence (North Korea, China, etc). They are currently engaged in the rooting out and destruction of all manifestations of Christianity.

If one is a materialist / atheist, then the only life pursuit that makes sense is to figure out an algorithm by which one can satisfy the Id in the strongest manner, most frequently, without threatening future Id gratification. There is no logical reason for empathy, compassion or considering posterity. Why not rape underage girls, if they are only soulless chemical robots that came about by accident, as did all "life", and which leave nothing after the physical body expires? If all humans, and animals, are nothing more than 25 to 75 cents or so worth of the lifeless chemical elements?

I'm not saying religion hasn't been co-opted for reasons of power and money. It has. By those who are either materialists themselves, or who favor the dark side of the spiritual.
