Deep Space: EXACTLY!! After all, I DID say "what might seem to be signs of unusual climate phenomena..."

And when those nice shiny white roads get dirty they are going to look like shit!

How can anyone say they are observing 'unusual climate phenomena' based on their own lifetime of observance of climate on a planet that's 4.5 BILLION years old? Even thousands of years of data is a drop in the bucket on that timeline. Hardly a baseline for drawing any meaningful conclusions.

I happen to be a professional in the health care field…and I find this to be a very curious subject, in that virtually everyone supports the AGW premise (Certainly there is an APPEARANCE of that!). Yet, a little while back, I took a few months to examine some of the key aspects of this argument and found it seriously lacking.

To cite merely a few issues...

1. Water vapor is the most important "greenhouse gas" (probably followed by methane), NOT CO2. And, carbon dioxide--unlike its cousin, CO--is not this noxious, toxic substance. It's more or less innocuous. And, yes, it's essential for photosynthetic plants. Now, were you to be subjected to VERY HIGH levels in a closed room, you’d probably suffer from respiratory distress, but this would be due to your blood shifting to a low pH, not to the gas itself…and what is currently seen in the atmosphere is NOTHING LIKE matching this level of concentration.

2. While we have seen what might seem to be signs of unusual climate phenomena, when considered in light of the "Bigger Picture" (going back around a millennium) we can see that there have been much warmer--and cooler--periods in the history of the planet. Apparently, in the 20th century, we’ve been fortunate to enjoy unusually mild climate conditions, so NOTHING UNUSUAL today, but seemingly NORMAL VARIABILITY. There is also some evidence that the HAARP experimental work (screwing around with the ionosphere (from several transmission stations around the world), may have played a part.

3. The algorithms used in climate research have been shown to have serious flaws. Put simply, some folks curious about them plugged in a bunch of varying data...and "what came out" was identical, suggesting something "very fishy."

4. The oceans have a very profound ability to shift back and forth to help maintain stability of the atmosphere, not unlike how the human body has several mechanisms it employs to help maintain homeostasis.

5. I have spoken to friends in Europe, and they have advised me--over the last ten years--that their winters have been unusually cold (NOT warm).

6. I’ve found it terribly telling that (apparently in the wake of news (like what was mentioned in #5 above)), that the language has shifted...and these people NOW speak of Global Climate Change, kind've like shifting your stance to better match what has been observed (while still insisting on a spurious argument).

As it happens, I support (sensible) positions on ecological and climate issues, and work on alternative engines and energy generation, but there is no need to adopt a zany, pseudoscience-based position.

... and the more greening, the more CO2 metabolized by plants/trees.

Those assholes have no shame peddling this crap. According to them we all should be killed because we breath out CO2. BTW, more CO2, greener the planet.
