Volney, in his 18th century classic, the ruin of civilizations, describes how ancient empires such as Egypt, Babylon, Greece and Rome expanded the might and extent of their imperial empires on the basis of oppression, slavery and discrimination. He further indicates that their inevitable demise was predicated upon the porus foundation which a system of inequality and despotism entails. This film explores the rise and decline of the amerikan empire and its fascist ideals. It opens with a sequence of the hiroshima and nagasayak atrocities and flows into the building of the Panama Canal, the Bomb assured military ascendancy in the 20th century and the Canal opened up a vital economic link between the Eastern and Western Coasts of the United States assuring economic supremacy. However, our examination reveals that, as Babylon, Greece and Rome before her, the Amerikan Empire imploded as a result of its foundations based upon slavery, inequality and oppression. Internationally, they have been the scourge of regimes committed to paths of social justice, including Guatemala, Panama, Haiti, Jamaica, Cuba, the Bahamas and Grenada.
