Today's DC Obama protest crowd over a million

First reports from AP and NY Times indicate 'thousands' at DC protest?
Rick Moran September 12, 2009
What else would you expect? Both the Times and AP are equating the crowds turning out in DC to protest Obama's policies with crowds turning out to see the president later today at a town hall meeting.
AP's and the Times notion of "thousands:[Photo]
According to CNN, the event got underway an hour and a half early because so many people showed up at the bottom of Pennsylvania avenue, there was simply no more room for new arrivals.
UPDATE II
Michelle Malkin reports that Capitol Police are estimating crowd at 1.2 million. ABC saying 2 million

PA Dubose said, "and just want the constitution of The United States upheld..!! Simple !!"

Almost ALL presidents have upheld the Constitution including Bush. It's the Bill Of Rights and Constitutional Amendments that have been abrogated from time to time over the years.

When discussing the Constitution it would be wise to recognize that a document that allows everything that's happened during the past 9 years to happen must surely be missing something to have allowed these things to happen.

The Constitution lacks a method for the people to be heard and for the people to make changes to laws passed. It's called redress of grievances and although it allows for such there is no method described to actually redress grievances. That's just one of the many problems with the document. It would behoove us all to remember that the Constitution is a document devised by the elite of the day and accepted as the supreme law of the land in March of 1789.

For people in the 20th century to rely wholeheartedly on a document that's 100s of years old, written when even the spoken word had different meaning, is ludicrous. While I am as patriotic as the next person I also have no fear in admitting that the Constitution doesn't work in todays political environment and further, being devised by the elite of the late 1700s it also doesn't work on a general level for the people of the 21st century.

Unfortunately most all of the people that support the Constitution have little to no basic knowledge of Constitutional Law and support the Constitution not because they have researched the document and its various interpretations but because to them it's just patriotic. Blind support of anything is unwise and the fact that something as simple as the Constitution could be greatly improved is an unfortunate truth.

Anyone who has spent less than a vast amount of time researching constitutional law has no business supporting or not supporting the constitution. Constitutional support in this country is BLIND support for a document few understand or are able to interpret properly.

Tell me, what happens when the US government starts a war, such as the ones in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the people of the country don't want to be at war? Nothing. That's because...

The Constitution does not provide a method for the people to undo that which is done. Simple.

The feeling in DC

Hello Tea Party Patriots: It's late and we are just getting back to our rooms. Our feet are throbbing and our bodies are a little sore from hitting the streets of DC.

As we moved around DC, you could feel a sense of heaviness in the air. People working here in DC do not look happy. Dressed in their dark suits with their heads down and their eyes avoiding most of the people, we glimpsed an understanding of the differences between We the People and politicians. The difference was very clear - power and corruption.

The politicians are separated from people with barricades, guards, staff and yes, even police with AK47s on the steps of the Capitol. While trying to protect the politicans from danger, they have insulated them from us. It has created a wall between DC politics and We the People back home where they came from. Because of that, they do not understand the true picture of what is happening in our country. They have a piece of that picture and we do too. The problem is this: They don't believe our piece of that picture and they are moving forward with legislation from their viewpoint only. It is a dangerous way to make decisions for our country and it is going to be a difficult job to get them to understand that.

It was not all gloom and doom yesterday because we had a great time with each other. When you are with a bunch of people who share your values and you feel you are on a mission together, you can laugh and find humor in the darkness of this city.

We heard from our cab driver that the hotels are full for the weekend! She was excited because the economy has hit DC as well and her revenues are down dramatically this year. Here's a great story she told us: "Most marches do not create much revenue for us because they bus people in the same day as the march, they march and they get back on the bus and leave." We laughed out loud and realized that she was describing Astroturf groups and not the real grassroots groups like the tea party movement. We assured her that she would make some money this weekend because We the People are here and we don't march like that. We are the real thing, baby!

We met tea party people from Washington state, Texas, California, Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Ohio. More are coming in today and the streets will be filled with tea party patriots as we let Washington bureaucrats know -- we are here and you can not ignore us anymore.

We'll be busy tomorrow with congressional visits, a 9/11 rememberance, the documentary filming and we are visiting wounded warriors at Walter Reed. It will be a great day.

The Dartmouth's final okay to be involved in the march was approved and she will be leading the Florida tea party patriots down Pennsylvania Avenue towards the Capitol. Thanks for your help and prayers to make that happen.

We will fill you in tomorrow on Friday's happenings. Think of us as you go throughout your day and know that we are so proud to represent you in this march. We appreciate your emails and calls of support and kindness and we appreciate those who supported this march financially. Some of those who could not possibly have joined us due to economic hardships are here because you sponsored them. It makes us all proud to be called "We the People."

not being able to afford prescription drugs probably saves far more lives than those who it hurts. This guy is such a BS artists its amazing.

He is such a manipulator, dividing the country, turning an argument against healthcare into an argument AGAINST HIM AS A PERSON... Talking like he is the poor victim of all these people who hate him and yet they only disagree with his healthcare nonsense...

Then he spent how long explaining how easy it is? Then follows it up with "I never said it would be easy" haha. funny...

as if its because its 'hard' that we dont want this 'change'... he says one moment that nobody will stop him, that we need to stop fighting him, that nothing will stop the change, and we should get used to it... then he says that change starts at the bottom and works its way up... this guy says every single catch phrase and quote he can think of, conflicting with himself over and over... Sounds like he read a couple Malcolm X books, changed all the quotes slightly so he knows what to say to sound like some hero.. All based on nothing, and all lies. Trying to be "the people's" president purely based on words and not actions.. He will tell us the war is over and all troops are coming home even as we watch the ships loaded up with more servicemen.

Did anyone catch the group of people behind him? It looks like they got the cast of "its a small world" back there.. you can tell they were placed, not only are they of every nationality, nobody even knows each other you can tell! So he got a mexican, white emo kid, young white blonde girl, regular hard worker, black woman, little kid, old guy, old woman, housewife etc. All right in the view behind him. Complete psychological manipulation to make everyone feel he is "accepted by all". I doubt this colorful group came together...

I wish someone would throw a damn shoe at his ass

Man Obama makes me so sick... "time to stop bickering and do as I say" his slogan "yes we can" should change to "yes you will, because I can"

"Destroying the New World Order"
