This was definite to happen. It's been an age old tactic (that unfortunately people still don't realize) that the world elite comprising the governments and the money masters have utilized quite often. They first induce an internal fighting between populations and sects of populations, people kill each other and when a sizable number are killed and only a fraction remains, that's when the elite's forces like NATO, (supposed) Peace Keeping Forces, etc. fly in and wipe out the remaining ones. A minority few, who are already under too much fear of losing life and fail to not dare to put up any resistance, are left aside and are put to good use by being groomed as puppets (of the elite). This is exactly what we will see happening in Syria, whether now or a little later.

The time to seriously watch out is when Damascus falls and is completely erased and decimated. Chances are that's when there could be some maneuvers, not as much towards Iran, as towards Pakistan possibly. Reason being, Pakistan is the only Islamic nation that is nuclear capable and, considering the dynamic change in political association between Pak, and the US, there is every possibility that Pakistan may offer assistance (militarily or logistically or strategically) to Iran in the event of a strike. But, of course, I don't see any of this happen overnight. It will take time but, momentum will pick up once Syria is completely dealt with.
