Government is to be the servant of the people. That is why they call it "public service". It is not to be the "provider" of all things needed by the people. Nor do the people serve it. While it may convey certain "privileges" to it's citizens, it can neither give nor take away any rights which are naturally those of the people. These things are clearly stated in our founding documents - the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States. If someone truly wants a fight, let the attempt to pass laws which would imply anything to the contrary.
