Oh, and if you sign a billion year contract with them to join the "admiralty" they basically get to use you as a slave for a billion years but on the up side they let you wear one of their nifty sailor suits. Obviously it's a pretty sweet deal but I'm holding out for them to throw a laser pointer key chain into the bargain as well.

Krypke, here's a quick run down as best I can give you from memory:

BASIC HISTORY

  • 1950: A pulp sci-fi writer, L. Ron Hubbard, writes Dianetics, a supposedly therapeutic self help book that he claims is based upon research but no research in regards to it's methods are ever published.
  • Same author eventually starts the religion Scientology
  • Church is accused of being a cult and is essentially kicked out of England.
  • L. Ron Hubbard sails around in international waters on a large boat filled with pretty young boys who serve as both his followers and ship's crew. It is at this time he writes down much of his OT level doctrines including the infamous OT3 information detailed accurately in the popular Southpark episode on scientology many years later.
  • Scientology spreads in the U.S. and is investigated by the IRS. Hubbards wife and a few followers break into IRS offices and steal the relevant files.
  • Scientology acquires an organization dedicated to helping people get family members out of dangerous cults so that concerned family members end up calling a dangerous cult for help getting family members out of dangerous cults.
  • As the church's coffers grow along with their membership they either sue or threaten to sue anybody that so much as looks at them funny.
  • The hacker group Anonymous is formed to shed light on the cult like activities of the Church of Scientology and several deaths they claim that the church is responsible for.
  • Tom Cruise jumps up and down on a couch acting like a nut bag bringing more attention to the church than anything previous.
  • John Travolt (a scientologist) produces a movie of L. Ron Hubbard's book Battlefield Earth. The Universe yawns.
  • Southpark does an episode which parodies scientology and accurately describes it's sacred and now infamous OT3 information. Isaac Hays (the voice of Chef), who is a scientologist, quits the show though he had no problem with parodying other religions.

BASIC DOCTRINE (much of it per the OT3 document)

  • You are not responsible for your bad feelings or impulses, it is all the Thetans which posses your body that are the cause. They are also the cause of many illnesses.
  • These thetans are the spirits of billions of galactic inhabitants that were brainwashed, transported to Earth and then murdered by being dumped into a giant volcano (like the one on the cover of L. Ron Hubbard's book Dianetics) hundreds of millions of years ago by the galactic overlord Xenu.
  • You can get rid of these thetans by paying ever increasing fees to advance OT levels through the scientology thetan clearing method known as auditing.
  • L. Ron Hubbard is the only Earthling to ever attain an OT level of "clear" (completely thetan free).
  • Reading the information in the OT3 document will surely lead you to an early grave, most likely from pneumonia, but possibly something else, unless you cleared of enough thetans to be at the OT3 level.
  • It's morally permissible and even desirable to ridicule, threaten, sue, intimidate, bear false witness against or even kill any and all critics of the Church of Scientology.

Normally by the time followers are first exposed to the OT3 information they are so invested in the Church, both emotionally and especially financially (to the tune of tens of thousands of dollars) they rarely turn their nose up at it because the cognative dissonance is just too great for them to deal with.

Krypke, I advise starting with Operation Clambake - http://www.xenu.net/ - IMHO, the key information site on the subject.

I don't like Cruise (I see no difference in his messianic self belief and arrogance, and that of Obama, or anyone else of that ilk) and find him, Miscavidge, and those that follow these two (into slavery - do a search on the Sea Org) and the ravings of Hubbard* as much a threat to human liberty and freedom as any other tyrannical agenda currently in play.

The 2008  'rant' video in question, was meant to be seen solely by an audience of elite $cientologist loyalists, and not by Wogs (non-$cientologists - N.B- THEIR slang not mine) and SP's (Suppressive Persons, enemies of the CO$ - such as myself)

*Don't get me started on Hubbard, Jack Parsons, Crowley, the Babalon Working etc ;)

Oh, and this has been edited to make him look like a nut. Clearly, there is an agenda here however playful...

Ya know, despite the bad press and media bias projected onto the masses, I like Tom Cruise. I think he has a good heart and means well. Anyone with a good heart is a kindred spirit of mine regardless of what they believe. I listen to his words and hear a kind, and thoughtful person. He feels genuine to me...

Neglected area of my research right here. I know next to nothing about Scientology. Anyone have a condensed version for me to take a gander at.
