I can understand that, here in Florida we may face a hurricane. Being prepared as best you can is all you can do. I've been watching this along that subduction zone heating up, heat and pressure from underground.

Hey, me too!  I see it like this: 1) There's a chance I'll have beachfront property and 2) Portland and Seattle will be wiped out (can't depend on the volcanoes).  May not be that bad a deal.  The probability of a future earthquake can be calculated, based on scientific data. Scientists at the US Geological Society (USGS) estimate that the probability of a major earthquake occurring in the San Francisco Bay area over the next 30 years is 67%.  But that's the best they can do as far as predictions.
